Envelope Glue Recipe
1 tablespoon school glue
1 tablespoon white vinegar
2 drops mint extract (cinnamon extract or your favorite flavor)
Mix together and store in a container with lid.
Paint a 1/4" wide strip on the edge of you handmade envelope and let air dry.
When ready to seal moisten or lick and press closed.
Note: The consistency seems a bit runny but it works well!!

Organizing Art Supplies
I saw several great ideas for organizing your studio online. Wild Strawberry's apothecary-cabinet was my favorite. I went to the Scrap Exchange looking for an cheaper alternative for the shoe organizer and I found 4 old desk drawers. They cost me $4 each!! They were a cream color so I didn't paint them, just cleaned them up. I like the shabby chic look so the wear on the edges is ok.
I had lots of drink cartons in the recycle bin and I have been trying to figure out how to reuse them. they are the same depth as the drawers. I used the cartons to make drawers and storage boxes.

I used some heavy chip board for shelves and secured them with a staple gun. I covered every thing with a variety of vintage newspaper (1963 Wall Street Journal), phone book white pages, old book pages and free papers from the ethnic grocery store, The older papers were a tea stain color that went well with the color of the drawers. I also made tops for some of the cartons that I cut top off of for tall storage boxes. I finished the drawers with vintage glass knobs and broken costume jewelry and hemp string. Total cost of my organization project $18.00.
