It's Spring!!
Here are a few things I've been doing lately:
Chinese New Year ATC Swap
I made these ATCs but have not swapped then yet
This is the cover of a mini journal I made using Teesha Moore's Make a Journal instructions on YouTube and using some of her journaling techniques also on YouTube.

Organizing Art Supplies
I saw several great ideas for organizing your studio online. Wild Strawberry's apothecary-cabinet was my favorite. I went to the Scrap Exchange looking for an cheaper alternative for the shoe organizer and I found 4 old desk drawers. They cost me $4 each!! They were a cream color so I didn't paint them, just cleaned them up. I like the shabby chic look so the wear on the edges is ok.
I had lots of drink cartons in the recycle bin and I have been trying to figure out how to reuse them. they are the same depth as the drawers. I used the cartons to make drawers and storage boxes.

I used some heavy chip board for shelves and secured them with a staple gun. I covered every thing with a variety of vintage newspaper (1963 Wall Street Journal), phone book white pages, old book pages and free papers from the ethnic grocery store, The older papers were a tea stain color that went well with the color of the drawers. I also made tops for some of the cartons that I cut top off of for tall storage boxes. I finished the drawers with vintage glass knobs and broken costume jewelry and hemp string. Total cost of my organization project $18.00.

Blue Haired Girl
I finished a second small painting on one of the Arizona Green Tea can canvases I made. The ginseng green tea is my favorite and I love the design and colors on the can. There are small bits from the can peeking out around the edges. I like this blue haired girl with the flower in her hand. I started it last week and finished it tonight. I was inspired by Teesha Moore. I love her journal pieces. I saw her stuff in Somerset Studio once. I would love to take one of her classes.
I joined an altered book swap and I made these Valentine pages to swap. I can't wait to see the pages I get.

Trying something new
I have been painting and creating mixed media pieces for the past 4 months.
I started with collage, acrylics and colored pencils. Now I really like water color and collage.
Here are some I have not finished yet.
